Diminished Men
Seattle’s Diminished Men have been gaining momentum over the past several years for their masterful blend of surf/noir/soundtracky instrumentalism. Guitarist Steve Schmitt weaves angular swaths of reverb-laden guitar, while drummer Dave Abramson (also of Master Musicians of Bukkake) and bassist Simon Henneman deliver subtle, unexpected beds of rhythmic intricacy that shift and breathe like a living maze.
Their debut LP Shadow Instrumentals was released in 2009 on Alan Bishop’s Abduction label. Their follow-up Capnomancy is due out in 2011 on Conspiracy Records. Both records were produced by Randall Dunn.
