Ask anyone: Seattle’s Night Beats are ones to watch. Coming off a year of almost non-stop touring, they will be making appearances this year at SXSW and Austin Psych Fest, with an EP and upcoming LP from Chicago-based Trouble in Mind Records in hand.
“[Night Beats] sound astonishingly like a ’60s garage band playing on a beat-up record player that’s been placed at the bottom of an oil drum, and there’s something about the sleazy guitar riffs crashing around from somewhere deep down there, frolicking with the go-go drumbeats, that sounds just about perfect to me. It’s the soundtrack to a dirty, drunken striptease, and I wish it would go on forever.”
